The HOA applied for and was approved for two grants, under State and County funding programs, totaling several thousand dollars. While details on funding and such will be provided to residents., there is a lot to share.
One grant will allow us to remove invasive species in the common areas, which will help ensure the native plants grow as desired. And the other, larger grant is to plant native trees, which will go in the common areas. It is anticipated that a company will be used to plant the trees, due to their size and complexity.
As part of the grant process, we are expected to match some of the funding with volunteer hours. As discussed at the Oct. 5 HOA meeting, there will be some volunteer sessions set up in the coming weeks. And there also is the opportunity for students to get volunteer service hours, certified, which is a plus.
Stay tuned for more updates and photos of the community upgrades as the work gets done!
